Derek qualified as a Solicitor in 2004 and is the Managing Director of DRA Conveyancing Ltd.

Following a career initially in chemicals & industry, transport, distribution, logistics and customer service management in a retail environment, Derek has worked within local firms of solicitors since 2002. Whilst employed in solicitors’ practices which operated across Dewsbury, Batley, Mirfield, Wakefield, Denby Dale, and Huddersfield, as a lawyer, Derek specialised in Conveyancing, Wills, Probate and Trusts, as well as working in the County Court, Magistrates Court and at Employment Tribunals.

In 2010 Derek made the decision to leave one of Yorkshire’s largest firms of solicitors in order to form DRA Conveyancing. The firm commenced trading in March 2011.

As a Licensed Conveyancer and full Member of the Institute of Professional Willwriters, Derek operates in Conveyancing and Wills, Estate Planning and Powers of Attorney.

In today’s highly regulated legal environment, much of Derek’s work is necessarily of a managerial nature. The prime focus is in ensuring the quality of the work carried out for clients, whilst complying with the many legal and regulatory obligations upon regulated law firms.

All of our staff work on a true teamworking basis. All staff will assist their colleagues such that if a client’s own dedicated case-handler is not available, then the client’s legal matter will always have unbroken attention and appropriate supervision.
